Excitement levels were high amongst our children aged between 3 and 7 as we passed festive displays and elves bustling about and were shown to our table.
The tables were decked with colouring in and crayons as well as innocent fresh OJ for the littles. We were asked if we wanted tea or coffee and individual pots were brought over.
We ate our breakfasts while Christmas tunes played and our 7 year old wolfed down his sausage, eggs and hash brown. One of our party is gluten free and it was no problem for the friendly staff to provide GF toast with his breakfast.
Quality was good, eggs were runny and all boxes ticked with a slice of black pudding included too. The little ones had porridge with fruit and honey and a frube yoghurt. All freshly prepared and very generous portions.
After we’d finished eating there was a little lul whilst they waited for others to finish (obviously not as greedy as us!) and then it was time for a story with the elf. The children sat on the floor and listened to a lovely story about a letter from Santa.
After it was finished it was time for a little game of musical statues and then the main event – Father Christmas!
After calling his name three times he appeared ringing a bell and looking very jolly. Poor thing got his beard caught in his bell so it was a little skew-whiff but the elf helped sort him out!
He called the children up one table at a time and gave them some very generous gifts. He made time for everyone, and my 3 year old who has been terrified of Santa most of her life ended up having a big chat with him at the end and making him a drawing of him because she was so taken by him! I wish I’d taken a photo if it, Santa told her he was going to hang it in his sleigh. He made her day!
They all had a good play in the soft play before we went round the aquatic section and bought plenty of Christmas presents in the shop. All in all a lovely morning out and good value for money. We will be back!
