We’ve rounded up our favourites from the long list of participating restaurants (the full list can be viewed here).
It’s always a good idea to phone ahead during restaurant week, as some of the more popular restaurants do get booked up.
21
2 courses £15, 3 courses £20
There is no getting away from it, even with the increasing competition 21 is still the holy grail of Newcastle dining.

With the average cost of an a la carte main course being £20, getting two courses for this £15 is a great deal. Why not try the Roast Peppered Sirloin of Beef with Duck Fat Sautéed Potatoes and Watercress followed by Chocolate and Espresso Mousse with Cocoa Nib Ice Cream?
Read our review of 21 here. 21 is always popular so phone ahead quoting ‘NE1 Restaurant Week’ to book a table.

We’ve had many tasty lunches at St Sushi, they really know what they’re doing and have a great selection of dishes.

With 2 courses for £10 you’re getting a great deal, with a selection of tempura veg and sushi starters and dishes like teriyaki salmon with seasonal vegetables and rice for mains.

Another one that always delivers in the Broad Chare. This cool and cosy gastro pub is part of the same group as 21, so the quality of the dishes coming out of the kitchen is always top notch. Why not try the Smoked Haddock Croquettes with Saffron Mayonnaise to start and the Blackened Mackerel, Fennel, Capers & Herb Relish main course?

This glamorous Thai restaurant has one of the best views in Newcastle, looking out over Grey’s Monument.

Enjoy some tasty treats and a cocktail or two while you watch the world go by. Why not try the steamed pork dumplings topped with fried garlic and a sweet soy sauce followed by their decent Chicken Pad Thai.

A fantastic addition to Newcastle’s dining scene, Dobson and Parnell offers faultless cuisine in a beautiful little restaurant on the quayside.
